X-Men
Highbred
Chapter
One
The X-Men have departed for San Diego, to search out information on a strange
new phenomenon. Using Cerbro Xavier’s has found a new strange group of people
who reading do not fit either mutants or humans appearing as dark purple instead
of red or white, yet Cerbro identifies that these people indeed had powers. This
new group has been very hard to lock on to and no data could be brought up on
these individual once Cerbro had made a lock on to them. This new group could be
very likely connected to the strange powerful mutants who have been rumored to
be living in the San Diego region and seem too appeared out of the wood work.
Little is know what will be uncover about this new group of people weather they
be a strange group of mutants or something else, the fact that the city is in an
uproar due to the high level of mutant activated make it a place of heated
conflicted and growing violence’s. With more mutants in the region, a strong
present of anti-mutant groups, and a new team called Saver’s the region is
growing closer to an urban war zone with each passing day. As both humans,
mutants, and others try to gain the upper hand the X-Men know they must treed
with caution. With any luck prepares they will uncover the strange reading that
Cerbro has pick up while helping stop the growing violence’s.
“Saver, a group dictated to saving the city from what they think is
evil,” Beast said from where he was sitting in the black bird.
“Why do I not think there the good kind of help,” Storm came.
“There fanatics aren’t they,” Logan added.
“Yes, there an underground organization, which is well equipped it is believed
some rich organization or individuals are funding this group. There using
advance weapons and technology to do there jobs. They current feel that beside
crime the biggest threat to the city are certain out of control mutants. They
have labeled these mutants as a danger to the city and feel it is there job to
eliminate this threat, but they have made it clear they do not feel all mutants
are a threat, yet they seem to attack any mutant who use there powers too
openly. The local police forces have not had any luck stopping the members of
Saver or finding out who’s backing them,” Beast added.
“Great sounds like the Friends of Humanity all over again,” Jubilee stated.
“Yes, and with this advance technology they are very dangerous. They are
already believed to be responsible for at least a dozen mutants’ deaths. The
Mayor is no friend of mutants, but she hate vigilant even more,” Scott came
from the controls
“Not to mention I don’t think she wants war erupting between the groups,”
Jean added. The jet shot though the sky, it was night time as they made there
decanted toward the city. The team was made up of Jean Grey, Scott, Logan, Hank,
Jubilee, Charles, Gambit, Rouge, and Orra.
Jean and Scott walked down the streets, they were in the down town section of
the city, since the airport was located in the central down town area. There
were no true skyscrapers in the city, or they would interrupt the plane landing
process. The group had dived up to look around the city and see what they could
find out. The sound of sirens drew there attention and both Scott and Jean made
there way closer to the sound. They found a few blocks down a building was
burning and firemen were doing there best to put it out. Jean could sense the
fear that rolled off the people. Jean could hear both mental and vocal the
scream but the loudest was of a woman.
“My daughter she still in there” the young blond head woman was crying her
husband hanging on to the desperate woman.
Both X-Men quickly divide toward the building which now was burning out
of control. Jean sensed out for the child, and dictated a present with in the
building, the only one, but there was something wrong with this presents. It was
not the present of a scared child, the present she sensed was clam and with out
fear. With out warning a small child appeared out of one the windows, quickly
the fireman began to yell to get the ladder to her, but it was clear the
building was unstable. The child was close to twelve stories up, the mother was
screaming to do something as more of the building collapsed and an explosion
blew the window behind the child out. The child leaped off of the collapsing
part of the building just in time to avoid the shook wave which would have sent
her tumbling over the edge.
Horrified screams filled the air as the child fell. Jean reached out to snag
her, but the child did a prefect jump graphing hold of a bar a few stories down,
she did two spin then dropped down to the next lower ledge. With easy the child
continued to use porches and ledge to make her way down.
“That was amazing,” Scott said. The girl landed and was quickly swamped by
media, family and the fireman. The moves were perfected, as good as a well
trained gymnastics, but that wasn’t what surprised Jean. Now she could see
that the girl eyes were shut her face blank as a sleeping child. The girl
parents quickly engulfed the girl who yawned happily and seem to look around for
the first time.
“She was asleep,” one fireman said with shocking crossing his face as he
look at one of his partners.
Jean reached gentle out with her telepathic powers and found that there now were
two present with in the child. The true child present was now more in controlled
filled with wonder and fear, but there was another present one that was mature
and clam. The one she sensed the first time, which was now growing distant with
each passing moment. Jean was unable to make a link with this fading presents,
but knew it had to be a mutant.
“What just happen, “Scott said from where he stood with Jean across the
street.
“I think a mutant took control of her mind,” Jean said. “I wasn’t able
to get a link with this other present,” she added.
“Thank god, the child ok. Nice save, who ever this mutant was,” he added.
With out warning all the fire shucked back in to the building as if it was about
to explode, everyone stared. The air was still and the sound of the flames were
gone. Wondering what was going on, many yelled to get back incase of an
explosion but nothing came. All the fire was gone, as if it had been command out
of existences.
“What the hell going on,” the chief of one engine said.
“We had this happen a few weeks ago a woman said.
“It got be a mutant,” another fireman yelled at him.
“Seem there are mutant all over this city,” Jean said looking at Scott who
was scanning the crowd street for any mutants. The only thing that caught his
eyes was a young boy with fire red hair who was peering out of a near by alley.
He had on black leather and a smirk.
“He look like a pyro to you,” he asked Jean.
“Yeah,” she said as both moved on down the street toward him. He caught
sight of them with dark red lava colored eyes and ran back down the alley. By
the time they got there was a bright flash and as they turned the corner they
found no one there. Scott eyes caught on to a cell phone lying on the ground. He
picked it up and noticed that there were burns along the edge of the phone.
“Can’t bring up the last number dialed,” he said a minute later after
checking the phone.
